Our client in the cannabis industry is looking for an experienced VP of Commercialization with a solid background in the Food and Beverage industry to oversee the management of all the related product commercialization and subject matter to manufacture cannabis products to the highest quality standards in the most cost-effective manner.
*Candidates must have experience with product commercialization (rather than product development) and must come from the Food and/or Food & Beverage industry to be considered.
The VP of Commercialization will:
Act as the lead on new cannabis and related product offerings/commercialization, capital expenditure request development, material readiness, and scale up efforts
Manage the company’s product portfolio by overseeing all aspects of new product development from idea to bench top to full scale production
Lead the Accelerated Process Improvement (API) supply chain cost improvement and ensuring that all teams are working effectively
Have an integral part in managing business simplification efforts such as SKU rationalization, packaging standardization component/specification consolidation
Assist with the integration and project management for key business growth and productivity initiatives
Build, train and manage the commercialization team to improve scalability, streamline existing processes and identify new and ground-breaking technology
Provide project management support to assign strategic enabler initiatives-i.e. material supply, asset optimization, and North America sourcing projects
Business effective resource alignment and business initiative prioritization. Facilitation of monthly Business Enabler meetings to executive staff
Lead business-planning effort (strategic plan, operating plan, capital plan) to Business Unit and plant locations
Support business unit KPIs, quality improvements, productivity and new technology strategies
Lead managers of the Commercialization division and be indirectly responsible for all employees within the division
Note: This position requires heavy travel.
