Vice President

We are in search of a Vice President for a highly-reputed traditional private equity investment firm, which focuses on making controlling investments in middle-market and upper middle market companies in select US industrial sectors and business services. With a 25+ year history of generating top-quartile returns, our client has over $3 billion of assets under management. Based in Los Angeles.

Position Responsibilities

• A successful VP is proactive, well organized and can be relied upon to work with an Associate to handle day-to-day activities in either new deals or portfolio work → maintains forward-looking mindset to anticipate work and/or key dates, surfaces important topics to Partner/Principal and acts as the “go-to” deal team member .

• Over time a VP should develop the experience and trust to work directly with a Partner on a new transaction, taking over the Principal roles in a deal → able to effectively engage with management teams and summarize key findings for a senior level audience

New platform deals

• Owns the entire diligence process → quarterback all third-parties (sets timelines, pushes parties forward, etc.) and helps drive the direction of diligence with Principal influence

• Ability to prioritize workloads during diligence processes by identifying key workstreams and staying ahead of expected timelines

• Assists in developing framework for investment committee materials → able to effectively turn framework into a cohesive presentation

• Leads in-person diligence sessions and calls with management

• Drives financing discussions and eventually negotiate keys terms and credit agreement

• Actively participates in legal contract negotiations

Key Portfolio work
