Project Manager– Industrial and Bulk Material Handling

Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the overall conceptual, basic and detailed engineering and design management and execution of assigned projects for industrial and bulk material handling facilities including project initiation, identification of work assignments, expediting progress, development of project budgets, schedules and contractual requirements and identification and mitigation of project risk. The successful candidate will play a key role in the organizational strength of successfully growing the Industrial Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management covering all engineering phases from conceptual, basic and detailed engineering according to the contractual requirements
  • Ensure that the right product is developed and delivered to meet Company’s quality standard, and contract requirements
  • Utilize project management methodologies, system tools as defined
  • Lead project teams and facilitate the communication and interaction amongst the functional representatives
  • Track project progress against schedule, cost and resource baselines and key performance indices, reporting status to management, client and internal executive team on a regular basis
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities
  • Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations
  • Approval and/or coordination of engineering project teams
  • Prepare and conduct project kick-off meetings and project meetings
  • Review and verify project estimates on a regular basis
  • Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a project team to the functional manager for documentation
  • Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery
  • develop concepts established by business development personnel
  • Interface directly with clients
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical), Engineering Technology or closely related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ of experience in the engineering field of industrial and bulk material handling facilities or closely related industry
  • Demonstrated, proven skills in the specific areas such as cement terminals, etc.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) work processes, practices, and recommendations
  • Strong management and supervisory skills heavily focused on engineering, drafting and procurement support Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of databased project control systems (cost control and scheduling tools) is preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels
  • Availability and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Availability and ability to travel to client sites on occasion
